ROYAL BABY NAME ANNOUNCED: WILLIAM AND KATE RADIANT
Attention royal baby fans-the name has been announced! This morning, Kensington Palace revealed Prince William and Kate Middleton named their baby boy George Alexander Louis. Officially, the royal baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.
In fact, anglophiles and royal enthusiasts should consider themselves lucky. When Prince William was born in 1982, fans had to wait seven days before his name was officially announced. When Prince Charles, William's father, was born in 1948, the Royal family waited an entire month before revealing his name! Imagine how high the bets were flying back then! The Duke and Duchess didn't give the bookkeepers a chance this time.
Prince William and Kate Middleton took Prince George home from St. Mary's Hospital in London only 27 hours after the baby was born. The happy, new parents greeted the press outside of the hospital's private Lindo wing, reporting their 8lb. 6oz. baby boy healthy. Dressed in a baby blue and white polka dot Jenny Packham dress, the Duchess of Cambridge appeared radiant and relaxed, stating "It's such a special time. I think any parent will know what this feeling feels like." The Duke also seemed euphoric, proudly booming that his son has "got a good pair of lungs on him, that's for sure. He's a big boy, he's quite heavy."
It will be definitely be interesting to watch little Prince George grow up. With that name, he's got a lot to live up to in the realm of British Pop Culture. Maybe he'll take after his great great grandfather King George VI, the father of the famed Queen Elizabeth II. Maybe he'll have a penchant for music and resemble George Harrison. We can only imagine for now...
