Rory McIlroy Says He's "feeling a bit lost" After Bad Round 1 at Irish Open 2013, Can No. 2 Golfer in the World Bounce Back? Great Clip (VIDEO)

Rory McIlroy is golf's No. 2 player in the world, but that doesn't mean he always feels like it.

McIlroy can feel lost sometimes on his safe haven, the golf course, just like we can sometimes in our comfort areas. That makes it that much more unnerving though, when it happens to us in a place that we are used to feeling so good.

Mcllroy's 2013 season has been mired by bad rounds and consistent mistakes that he his not used to be making.

Thursday was no different as Mcllroy opened up play at the 2013 Irish Open.

He shot a opening round 74, which put him in a tie for 98th place and admitted to reporters afterwards that he was "feeling a bit lost".  (via Ryan Ballengee of GolfNewsNet)

"At the moment, no aspects of my game are strong and I'm just feeling a bit lost at the moment," McIlroy said. "It feels good on the range  and I can hit all the shots but when I get out no the course it really does not seem to be there."

"The game is just not coming easy to me at the moment and while I was struggling at this point last year," he said, "I was able to turn the corner in the middle of the summer and have a great end to my season."

Ballengee said that Rory was explaining he was of "two minds" when he sets up for a tee shot every time now, which is a bad place mentally to be in on the golf course.

McIlroy was coming off a of a great end to 2012 and being named the No. 1 golfer in the world. This season though he has yet to pick up a major win and is still reeling from walking off the course and quiting in the middle of the Honda Classic.

McIlroy has two weeks to prepare for the Open Championship which he has struggled in at times.

With Tiger Woods injured again and Rory McIlroy struggling mentally, this could be an ugly summer for professional golf.
