Ronda Rousey Next Fight vs Cris 'Cyborg' Santos Could Be the Biggest MMA Event Ever?
The highly-anticipated fight between Ronda Rousey and Cris "Cyborg" Santos is expected to be the biggest MMA fight that will grace TV sets for quite a while.
Talking to Telegraph Blogs recently, Shannon Knapp, president of the Invicta Fighting Championships, said that Ronda Rousey's possible next fight versus Cris "Cyborg" Santos may even outshine the much-awaited Floyd Mayweather's fight against Manny Pacquiao.
She said, "There's no love lost between Cris and Ronda. There's been a lot of back and forth. They've said bad things about each other. It will be emotional for both of them. I'd get really excited for that fight. That's the fight I want to see. I think it will be the biggest fight the sport has seen."
Besides that fight, Knapp went on to mention that the MMA is looking into a Ronda Rousey versus Gina Carano fight as well. Seeing as both female fights are very marketable and popular, it won't be hard to collect some hype and support for the bout.
At the same time Knapp added that Ronda Rousey's possible next fight against Cris "Cyborg" Santos will generate plenty of hype much "like Mayweather-Pacquiao."
On a side note, Rousey weighed in on the controversial Ray Rice video when she spoke to Extra TV.
She said, "You need to respect yourself and see what you are worth ... really know what you are worth. Unfortunately, I think a lot of women undersell them and don't know how much they really deserve. I know for a fact that (Palmer) deserves more than she believes."
