The British film, "Romeo and Juliet", an adapted script from the famous writer Shakesphere, premiered in theares this weekend alongside "Captain Phillips" and "Gravity". The film that was directed by Carlo Carlei,followed the classic tale of the love story between Romeo and Juliet, who are destined to be together, but their families have sworn them apart. The classic story doesnt follow the original Shakesphere dialogue but follows the plot line as Romeo, Douglas Booth, and Juliet, Hailee Steinfeld, secretly wed behind their families backs.
The movie "Romeo and Juliet" premiered on a big weekend with some of the box offices biggest premieres. The movie however did not get great reviews as it is currently holding a whopping 24% out of 100 for Rotten Tomatoes Critic review. "Romeo and Juliet" took a chance in this newly revised version of the tale by putting a modern spin on it , in hopes that this generation will come to love the story as much as the last.
Rotten Tomatoe gives the new movie a rating of 4.5 out of 10 for lack of romance and energy. Similar critics agree that this version of "Romeo and Juliet" has been the worst one of all. The movie premiered on Saturday and hit a total of 500,000 dollars in over 462 movie theatres- meaning the movie averaged 1,100 in sales at each premiere showing.
