Roma Downey 'The Bible' Producer Honored with Prestigious Award by Christian Women in Media (CWIMA) at Annual Conference in Dallas Texas
Actress and Producer Roma Downey has had quite a few accomplishments recently. The admired actress is now being honored by the illustrious organization Christian Women in Media (CWIMA) as the grand finale of their national media conference, Excellence in Communication Awards Gala, April 3-5, in Dallas, Texas.
The Bible miniseries that Downey both stared in and produced alongside husband Mark Burnett shattered records by receiving more than 100 million views on the History Channel. Her film "Son of God," which is roughly based on the 10-hour miniseries shocked Hollywood and mainstream critics as well, receiving $26.5 million at the box office coming in at No. 2 on the list of top movies in its first week.
Due to all the success, Downey along with Gospel singer Babbie Mason will be awarded with the prominent award for Excellence in Communication. The organization, CWIMA, is known for recognizing outstanding Christian women in the field of media by bestowing them with the esteemed award.
This premiere award is an incentive for the continued pursuit of excellence for women in social media, television, radio, film, publishing, music the arts and entertainment. CWIMA focuses its attention on exceptional women who influence our society with significant media contributions.
Downey will be honored for her outstanding achievements in television and film. In addition she is to be recognized as Co-Executive Producer and Actor in the 'Son of God' film.
Mason is being esteemed for her remarkable music as an award winning artist and celebrated songwriter. Babbie has graced the stage with American presidents and is an inductee to the Christian Music Hall of Fame.
The Awards Gala is for both men and women. It kicks off April 5 at 7PM. The conference will be at the Double Tree Hotel near the Galleria Dallas, Texas, April 3-5. Membership is not required to attend.
Gala ticket includes program and dinner for $35. Gala Tables are offered with advertising for $500. Conference registration is $300 for CWIMA members and $350 for guests, which includes 4 meals, the Awards Gala and gifts.
