Roma Downey & Mark Burnett Set Out to Prove Prayer Works with New TV Series on TLC [VIDEO]
'Bible Series' and 'Son of God' producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett announced Tuesday that they were bringing a new faith-based series to TLC that focuses on people who claim their prayers have literally been answered.
The Hollywood reporter ran a story about the famous couple and their new show and revealed the TLC series will run in six installments. Although not yet named, the focal point of the series will be on the power of prayer and the miraculous testimonies of the answered prayers.
"Mark and I feel passionate about providing projects that show people's lives in positive and uplifting ways," executive producer, Downey told Hollywood Reporter, "This is a wonderful opportunity to work with TLC and host a series that will inspire and encourage viewers to remember that even in the worst circumstances prayer can lead to divine intervention."
A network's press release revealed that the series would follow people who have experienced "modern-day miracles, incredible twists of fate, and phenomena that logic and science cannot explain."
Sticking to a concept close to her former role on 'Touched By an Angel,' Downey, will not only be behind the camera, she is will also host the new unscripted project.
"TLC is always looking for remarkable, heart-warming, and eye-opening stories," TLC general manager Nancy Daniels told Hollywood Reporter, "This project, and our fantastic partnership with Roma and Mark, will deliver a television experience that connects with the hearts, minds, and faith of our viewers."
Along with Downey, LightWorkers Media will harmoniously be producing the show. Casting has now begun and anyone with miracles to report can apply HERE. The inspiring show will reportedly air in 2015.
