Robin Thicke and Paula Patton Divorce: 'Blurred Lines' Singer Splits With Wife After 20 Years of Marriage

High profile celebrity and longtime couple, Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have announced that they have decided to end their marriage.

The couple told People magazine that they're their marriage of nearly nine years was ending. "We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," the singer and the actress told People today.

The couple has been together for 20 years and they first met when Thicke was 14. The two dated throughout high school and decided to get married in 2005.  They have a three-year-old son together named Julian Fuego Thicke.

There has been speculation of a split for months in the media, with reports that Thicke was unfaithful to his wife. News of the spilt has fans devastated most hoping the rumors were not true since the two recently attended the 56th annual Grammy awards together hand in hand.

The singer described his marriage in Star magazine to 38-year-old actress as "the greatest love of the century, and the most functional, dysfunctional marriage in Hollywood."

The "Blurred Lines" singer often sings about love and sex and he claims all songs were written about his wife. Following an uproar over hit latest single the singer said to the Dailymail, 'I wrote it [Blurred Lines] about my wife,' he explained. In the song, he sings 'she's my good girl'.

While there is no confirmation whether infidelity was the cause of their breakup, the 36-year-old crooner has reportedly had several rumored adulterous affairs that have been widely reported in the media.

Perhaps Thicke hinted to some trouble in July. "Some of our individual goals still haven't been realized," he told USA Today about his relationship with Patton. "But we have a healthy child. We're madly, crazily in love."

Unfortunately Hollywood is known for its stigma on marriages. Keep the family and their young child together in prayer as they go through this unfortunate time.
