Robin Thicke, Paula Patton Divorce: Singer Admits He has 'No Idea' What He's Doing in Trying to 'Get Her Back'; 'I Hope She Likes it' (VIDEO)

Pop and R&B singer Robin Thicke has admitted he has "no idea" what he is doing concerning him trying to get his wife Paula Patton back as they are in the process of a divorce for his alleged cheating.

Thicke's new album is called Paula, in devotion to his long time sweetheart, and his lead track is called "Get Her back." The message in the song is quite clear, and in the video he reveals private text messages between the two.

On "Good Morning America" Thicke said of the new album and his wife, "I hope she likes it. We were childhood sweethearts and she's the best person I ever met. I thought the least I could do was to devote an album to her."

In creating the video for the song "Get Her Back" he seemed to be acting spontaneously as far as his direction.

"I actually have no idea what I'm doing. I'm actually flying by the seat of my pants on this one. I just wanted to make something artistic out of a very difficult period," he shared.

He continued, "When you lose the love of your life, you don't have much to hide anymore."

When asked if Patton has reached out or responded at all, he said that was "private. I can't speak for her."

The couple split in February, and since then Thicke has been on a campaign to get her back, even going as far as asking his audience at shows to help him. His newest project released on July 1.

The couple was rumored to be going through their troubles because of infidelity. Thicke's music has suggestive themes, and his hit song "Blurred Lines" features nude models dancing in it. Even now, in "Get Her Back," it features nudity, although mostly silhouetted.

Last month Thicke said he would perform the song at the 2014 Billboard Awards, and true to form, he did. He had previously dedicated his performance of "Lost Without U" at a concert in Virginia in February, but his romantic gestures have not won back the heart of his currently separated wife.

Some of the lyrics of the song read as follows: "I never should have raised my voice or made you feel so small/I never should have asked you to do anything at all," and "I don't know what I was thinking letting you go ... I miss you ... I just want you to come back home ... I don't know what to do in the morning without you."

Earlier that night when he won an award and thanked his wife, "Most importantly, I'd like to thank my wife for her love and support, and for putting up with me all these years."
