Robin Thicke "Blurred Lines" Featuring Pharell Williams: Second Best Selling Song of 2013? No. 1 on UK Singles Chart [VIDEO]

Canadian transplant/sex crooner Robin Thicke is burning up the pop charts with his latest single, "Blurred Lines" featuring music's main collaborator Pharell Williams and rapper T.I.

As of a few days ago, "Blurred Lines" had already moved over 371,000 downloads in one week propelling it to no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Also according to Billboard, Thicke's "Blurred Lines" had the highest selling week of any single in the last fourth months. "Thrift Shop" by newcomers Macklemore and Ryan Lewis sold over 412,000 the first half of March.

"Blurred Lines" has moved over 700,000 copies to date in the U.K. alone, and is only second to Daft Punk's May single, "Get Lucky" which has sold just under 1 million units. Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" has remained no. 1 on the UK singles chart for four weeks in a row.

According to The Official Charts Company the kinky summer smash, "fought off tough competition from Jason Derulo's 'The Other Side (Number 2)' to retain its position in this week's race to Number 1. Blurred Lines is now the second biggest selling single of 2013 so far, clocking up a further 133,000 sales over the last seven days."

Growing pains or not, Thicke is on his way to being a bona fide pop star.

Sure, "Blurred Lines" is a great song. Sure, everything Pharell Williams touches these days seems to turn into gold. But every good song needs a great music video. As part of a marketing campaign for Beatz By Dr. Dre headphones, Thicke is seen parading around with scantily clad models holding a suggestively designed mini-sound system.
