Rihanna Instagram Update: Comback After 6-month Hiatus Following Scandalous Posts

Rihanna's 12.8 million social media followers rejoiced as the "Diamonds" singer made a comeback to Instagram after six months of inactivity due to the explicit images posted on the account months ago.

Entertainment Online reports that Rihanna's high profile account, "@badgalriri" was deactivated by the photo-sharing site less than a week after posting a "few racy ... shots" last May.

The 26-year old "California King Bed" singer posted some images from her Lui Magazine photo shoot on Instagram. When Instagram, known for its strict anti-nudity policy prompted to remove the photos, she decided to delete the account herself and chose to reveal them on Twitter instead.

Before she deleted her account, Rihanna then added a fan's photo that mocked Instagram's policies, saying "Rih's Next Magazine Cover If It was Up To Instagram."

However, a representative from Instagram said that they did not deactivate Rihanna's highly influential account because of the photos and stated that it was a "human error" mistake.

"Yesterday, we briefly disabled the account by mistake and restored it rapidly," Alison Schumer of Instagram's public relations group stated at the time.

"I can confirm that we have not deleted the account subsequently," Schumer added.

"Something new is happening that I'm just clueing into now-this probably won't go down well-but customers don't care any more about reviews or hard-copy publications. They care what picture Rihanna just Instagrammed while she's naked in bed, what new shoes she has on, how she's talking about them. That's what they respond to," said fashion designer to the star Tom Ford, noting that Rihanna's Instagram account was "more influential than any fashion review."

Now, it seems like Instagram and Rihanna has kissed and made up regarding the issue. Instagram's official Twitter account gladly welcomed the singer back into the photo sharing site, while Rihanna replied with a drawing of herself hand-in-hand with Instagram's icon, which appears to be sending a kiss towards the singer in the image.

Aside from that, Rihanna also posted a picture on Instagram confirming her return officially, and captioned it with "Hellurrr #badgalback."
