‘Revenge’ Season 3 Finale Spoilers: Season 4 Confirmed? Which Shows Will ABC Cancel and Renew?
With the Revenge Season 3 finale episode set to air next week, fans are curious whether ABC will renew the series for Season 4. Experts say that with the current rating compared against the show's competition and other shows from the station, Revenge is almost certainly coming back for Season 4.
ABC has not yet released any official news on which shows will get airtime renewal, but it has already announced the cancellation on a couple of TV series due to low performance ratings and viewership. Revenge, a psychological thriller, has had fluctuating ratings in the past weeks, but experts say that the TV series starring Madeleine Stowe will survive for another year.
Statistics from TV by the Numbers suggest that among other flagship shows from ABC, Revenge is one of the strongest in terms of viewership. The Renew/Cancel Index results are based on data gathered from December 30, 2013 to February 2, 2014. The show earned a 1.03 score, putting it at seventh spot with Modern Family hitting a 2.21 rating.
Revenge garnered approximately 5.19 million viewers, 1.3 million of which comes from the 18 to 49 age bracket. The TV show performed better than NBC's Crisis (4 million; 1 million) but slightly lagged behind CBS' The Mentalist (8.6 million; 1.2 million).
Among the canceled ABC series are Back in the Game, Minds Games, Lucky 7, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, and The Assets.
Once Upon a Time, Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, Castle, Modern Family, The Middle, Resurrection, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, The Goldbergs, Nashville, Suburgatory, and the Last Man Standing are candidates for renewal.
Revenge's final episode Execution will air on May 11, 10 PM on ABC.
