‘Return to Amish’ Season 2 Renewed? TLC Has Yet To Renew Series, Premiere Date Uncertain
'Return to Amish' aired its season finale on July 20 with its "The Shunning Truth" episode which left viewers wondering when, and even if, the next season will be released.
The show's cast is currently doing public appearances to make sure the show gets picked up for another season.
After the season finale, fans were left with questions about Chapel's cancer battle. However, TLC has not yet confirmed or denied a renewal for a new season of the show
'Return to Amish', which is a spinoff of the original series 'Breaking Amish', premiered on June 1 and was able to garner 2.4 million viewers. The TLC series has a viewer demographic of women ages 18-34 and was the most watched series in its time-slot.
The series follows the lives of Abe, Jeremiah, Kate, Rebecca and Sabrina as they return to the Amish community that they at one point turned their backs on.
The ex-Amish rebels returns to their roots to face the challenges of marriage, pregnancy and the results of shunning.
The series received an average of 1.82 million viewers for its entire season, and although it was not as successful as 'Breaking Amish' was, its number of viewers is still enough to indicate the possibility of getting renewed for a second season.
"Re tweet if you want another season of #ReturnToAmish #breakingamish," Jeremiah posted on his Twitter account as a campaign for fans to get the show renewed.
In 2012, Rihanna said in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that she watches the series 'Breaking Amish'. The singer's admission caused fans to get excited for the show helping it garner a record-breaking number of viewers.
On a side note, 'Breaking Amish' will premiere its third season in October on TLC.
