'Resident Evil 7' on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, 360: Release Date Set for Early 2015
This week, the Japanese game titan Nintendo has revealed that 'Resident Evil 7' will incorporate the latest story, advanced visuals, as well as enhanced game mechanics. The proposed remake of the 2002 Gamecube version will be released for PlayStation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC sometime in early 2015.
According to latest reports, the major changes related to gameplay will comprise scrolling camera angles, which will be available for some selected scenes. In addition, 'Resident Evil 7' will come with a widescreen mode, 5.1 surround sound and full 1080p support for the next generation consoles.
Beyond that, the new remake will come with two different control schemes, enabling players to choose between new or classic configurations. However, this will only be available on the digital release.
The original game, 'Resident Evil' was released in 1996 and engages the player as he or she solves puzzles in a mansion infested by zombies. With limited supplies, the player must get to the bottom the mystery as they fight to survive against the terrifying creatures roaming about.
In 2002, Capcom remade the game for the Gamecube, offering fans of the classic an opportunity to once again enjoy the atmospheric horror. Also, the title was eventually ported to the Wii.
Capcom released a statement about the new game that read, "We are proud to announce Resident Evil for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC," adding, "Resident Evil will be available to purchase digitally across Europe and North America in Early 2015." Capcom further stated, "The game is set in the now notorious Raccoon City, players choose to take on the role of either S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) team member Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine who have been sent into the city to find the missing Bravo team."
