Reign TV Show Series Premiere Trailer SPOILERS: Sixteenth Century Drama Raises Questions About Marriage and Sexuality in Medieval Times [TRAILER] [LIVE ONLINE STREAM]

The new TV series Reign on the CW is set to premiere tonight to mixed reviews and even a little bit of controversy. Some spoilers indicate that there was a sex scene that was present in the pilot of the episode that was just recently cut out of the final product that will air tonight on the CW. The story centers on a young woman who has lived in a convent her whole life and is now being forced to marry the Prince of France.

Brian Lowry, a critic at Variety.com, wrote an article about his thoughts on the series premiere of Reign. He wrote, "All told, the series - handsomely shot in Ireland - represents what amounts to a sleight-of-hand act - an attempt by CW to look like it's trying something different while really just churning out more of the same, albeit with more splendid settings and ornate costumes. It's "Game of Thrones" with a learner's permit, for those whose parents won't let them watch pay TV."

Tim Goodman over at the Hollywood Reporter was not so kind about the pilot of the show. He wrote, "What The CW is doing here... is approaching television with the perspective that the target audience is profoundly idiotic. Young girls can't be expected to pay attention to anyone who isn't outlandishly good looking. They can't live in a world where a character - even one based in history - is old. And to re-create the history of a woman who actually lived an incredible life would be too arduous a task. Better to have her pine over someone named Bash."
