Reign TV Show Review: Episode 2 Premieres Tonight on The CW Amidst Cries of Historical Inaccuracies [TRAILER] [LIVE ONLINE STREAM]

The new 16^th century teen girl drama show Reign has critics up in arms over all of the historical inaccuracies about Mary Queen of Scots. The show claims to be "inspired" by true events, but ends up focusing on Mary in her quest to have fun and flirt with attractive guys. Critics complain that the show treats young women, the targeted demographic of most CW shows, as bimbos who can't watch a show unless everyone in it is gorgeous and there is manufactured "he said, she said" drama.

EOnline.com came to the defense of Reign in an article by Kristin Dos Santos which said, "Reign - which airs its second episode tonight - is not a history lesson. It is sorta-kinda inspired by true events of the 16^th Century, but focuses on a 15-year-old Mary (Adelaide Kane) who has just been freed from a convent, to the freedom of life with the French royal family, and is just a girl trying to have fun despite the stoic confines of the monarchy. It is arguably the most ambitious series the CW has ever done, but most importantly, it is so much fun to watch - thanks to, in part, the writers' determination to not get bogged down by historical accuracies. In a sea of lackluster new fall TV dramas, Reign is currently at the tippy top of our must-watch list."
