Tampa Bay Rays: RH Roberto Hernandez (3-6, 5.03 ERA)

Monday night's Game 1 series opener between the two AL East rivals featured some late inning drama. Both team's benches cleared after what looked like Red Sox pitcher John Lackey intentionally hit Rays' Matt Joyce in the back. Red Sox manager John Farrell maintains Lackey was simply pitching inside, off the plate. The Rays aren't convinced.

"There's no question in my mind he did," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "And the sad part is I've always considered Lackey a good teammate, but right there he could get one of his own players hurt."

Will Rays starter Roberto Hernandez see revenge for the fatigued Rays? In Thursday's loss against the Tigers, Hernandez was pulled halfway through the 5th inning after surrendering 10 hits and 4 runs  How will Hernandez handle red hot Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia whose coming into tonight with a 14 game hitting streak.

It's been a rough couple weeks for Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester. Lester's gone 0-2 with a 5.68 ERA in his last 4 starts. However Lester's only given up 3 total runs in two starts against the Rays this season.

The Boston Red Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays at 7:10 PM ET on NESN, Sun Sports, and MLB Network.
