'Red Dead Redemption' Sequel News, Rumors: Rockstar to Title New Game ‘Red Dead Rebellion’?
The successful western game from 2010, 'Red Dead Redemption', is expected to have its second sequel anytime soon, and fans are looking forward to an announcement at E3 2015. The sequel for 'Red Dead Redemption' is allegedly set in historical Japan and was recently hinted to be named "Red Dead Rebellion," according to Metro.
In previous rumors about a possible game story line for the sequel to 'Red Dead Redemption', according to CrossMap, Rockstar could've taken Akira Kurosawa's fictional character, Yojimbo, into consideration given that he has some similarities to the cowboy John Marston.
Yojimbo, a film by Akira Kurosawa, is a tale of a masterless swordsman during the end of the samurai era in Japan. The swordsman had arrived in a town where two warring crime lords wanted to hire him as a henchman.
In 2010, 'Red Dead Redemption' had centered on a cowboy outlaw named John Marston in a fictitious Mexican state in the US. The game had been praised for it ope-world environment and multiplayer feature for a western action-adventure game. It had been launched to Xbox 360, and PS3. Since then Rockstar has had numerous updates for the game up to last month. While the updates just keep going, fans keep asking when the next sequel is about to happen.
When Rockstar held its Asked & Answered event online and was asked about their upcoming games especially a Red Dead Redemption sequel, the team had acknowledged the growing eagerness from gaming fans and explained that they "don't always rush to make sequels".
"So if you're going to keep making GTA, why not keep making Red Dead Redemption?" asks @Austin_Lawson32. To which they fully reply with:
"It's wonderful to see so much excitement and enthusiasm for the Red Dead series, and nearly 5 years after Red Dead Redemption's release(!). As we've mentioned when asked in the past about new games in other series such as Red Dead Redemption, Bully and L.A. Noire, we don't always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won't get to them eventually. We have so many games we want to make and the issue is always one of bandwidth and timing. We thank longtime fans such as yourselves as always for your amazing support and please stay tuned in 2015 for announcements of what's to come from Rockstar Games."
