Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti recently expressed his views regarding his superstar player Cristiano Ronaldo facing his former rival team Liverpool on Wednesday afternoon.

"No, ha, ha, he won't be more motivated because it's Liverpool," said Ancelotti to The Sun in reference to the former Manchester United star.

"Cristiano is always super-motivated. But if the atmosphere is hostile it motivates him more."

The manager of the current Ballon d'Or winner also revealed he also has history with the English side.

"I followed Liverpool from 1984 when I faced them with Roma in the European Cup final and we lost on penalties," adding, "It's always been a club that make me emotional," said Ancelotti.

Real Madrid previously defeated Ludogorets by a final score of 2-1 on October 1.

Meanwhile, Liverpool is attempting to put a stop to Real Madrid's winning ways when the two squads battle each other in the UK.

"This is Liverpool Football Club and this is where we are supposed to be," said Liverpool star Rickie Lambert to Liverpoolfc.com.

"We've been away from the competition for a few years, but this squad definitely feels at home on nights like this. Games don't come bigger than against Real Madrid. On any given day, we can beat anyone, especially at home. When the fans are in full voice, which I know they will be against Real Madrid in the Champions League, we're unstoppable at times."
