Real Madrid Transfer News: To Lose Khedira, Di Maria, and Possibly Benzema

Real Madrid is looking for a major roster change, even after winning the 2013-2014 European Championship with their current lineup. As it stands, the club is looking to remove Sami Khedira, Angel Di Maria, and even selling Karim Benzema.

All of these players are of great importance to the team and getting rid of them might weaken Real Madrid tremendously.

Khedira might end up being with Arsenal before the start of the next season. In all respects, Khedira is excellent with his mid-field plays and his passes are solid and well-timed. His greatest asset may be his ability to recover the ball and making plays with short passes.

However, with other mid-fielders like, Xabi Alonso, Luka Modric, and Asier Illarramendi eager for a mid-fielder position, it was inevitable for Khedira to be replaced. Being injured for the majority of the Championship also did not help his case.

Di Maria is the most versatile of all Real Madrid's attacking players in the last and current season. His affinity playing as a winger opposite of Christiano Ronaldo proved to be a force to be reckoned with. His versatility was further proven when paired with Modric and Alonso in the mid-field. Their passing game made for a more offensive Di Maria.

Di Maria's departure could be caused by Barcelona's acquisition of Luis Suarez. Club president Florentino Perez could be looking to sign Colombian James Rodriguez in order to counter Suarez's entry to Barcelona.

With Di Maria out of the picture, it is uncertain on whether or not Rodriguez can play well with Ronaldo or Bale. With Di Maria gone from Real Madrid, it could be a real blow to the team's midfield stability.

Benzema's fate with Real Madrid is still uncertain. If he manages to be cast off, he could be targeted by Liverpool to serve as a replacement for Suarez. If he manages to stay, he will still be included Madrid's attacking force.

Either way, both outcomes would pose problems for Madrid. Benzema remaining with the team would cause some problems with the midfield. His departure, however would rob Madrid of a middle striker which would force the team to rely on Ronaldo and Bale for goals.
