Real Madrid Transfer News: James Rodriguez for $108 Million from Monaco

Real Madrid enjoyed a sensational win with the Champions League and Copa del Rey last season and is most surely preparing themselves for the next season. Most fans did not expect the Spanish club to make big changes to their roster.

Just Tuesday, Real Madrid revealed that they had acquired Monaco forward, James Rodriguez for a whopping $108 million. This places Rodriguez as one of four of the most expensive purchases by Real Madrid.

With so many superstars in its roster, the problem facing Real Madrid now, is how will it fit these athletes in the starting line-up. Obviously, with the club's $108 million purchase of Rodriguez, it wouldn't make sense putting him on the bench. There will surely be a position that Rodriguez will fill.

During last year's season, Carlo Ancelotti settled with the 4-4-3 formation with Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Karim Benzema on attack. Angel Di Maria and Luka Modric were essential to the plays that happened in mid-field, and they performed spectacularly.

The addition of not only Rodriguez, but of Toni Kroos will make it difficult for the club to assign them positions due to the starting roster's synergy. It will be difficult to place them on the starting roster, and putting the two new players on bench is out of the question.

It was suggested that the club could put Rodriguez in Benzema's place as the center forward, but that would place Benzema on the bench. It will be difficult for Real Madrid sit out Benzema because of his outstanding performance last season with 17 goals and nine assists.

Real Madrid will have to think up of some strategy to put all superstars into the starting eleven if they plan to put their players to good use. After all, their purchases over the years are quite expensive.
