‘Real Housewives of New York City’ News: Aviva Drescher Fired? Lawyer Housewife Denies, Says She Quit Instead [VIDEO]

Just like any other franchise, 'Real Housewives of New York' undergoes cast changes necessary to keep the show alive. Aviva Drescher, a mother of four, was the first one to receive the cut as she was taken out of the lineup for RHONY Season 7. Bravo TV has not yet released an official statement about it, but rumor has it that the lawyer housewife has already reached a pinnacle of drama and conflict with the other cast members.

In the last season, RHONY housewives have been accusing Drescher of lying and faking her illnesses so that she did not have to attend some of the show's functions. The 45-year-old attorney went berserk on the season finale yelling that her prosthetic leg is the only thing artificial about her.

"I think me getting angry and throwing my leg on the table was really funny and crazy. I get a hoot out of it. But of course, I was definitely brought to the end of my rope or the end of my leg so to speak," she jokingly told US Magazine.

But amidst the issue, Drescher denied that she was fired by the network executives and insisted that she resigned instead. She told Millennium New York Magazine that the only reason she accepted a slot on RHONY is because of her friend Bethenny Frankel.

However, Drescher clarified that her RHONY stint has been a learning curve in understanding the process and culture of reality television, "While I don't enjoy gossip and drama as a means for entertainment the amount of people I have helped is tremendous and writing a book alongside with product development has all been a result of doing the show," she told Reality Tea.
