‘Real Housewives of New York’ Spoilers: Will Show Be Canceled? Low Ratings Could Spell Show's End [VIDEO]

Just six episodes into the new season, Real Housewives of New York (RHONY) is already being threatened with cancellation due to poor ratings and viewership.

Bravo TV's growing concern over RHONY's ineffective mass appeal may end up being reasonable ground to dismiss the Real Housewives of New York franchise from TV.

In statistics shown by BravoRatings.com, RHONY has fallen off the charts to just 1.2 million viewers for the fifth episode of the season.

"This week's 1.46 ratings are up but there was a "64,000 viewer decrease (-8.39%) in the more important 18 to 49 year old demographic."

Bravo TV executives openly admit that despite the drama circulating around RHONY casts, the audience seems not to be buying it. The problem, according to Radar Online, is that all the big events including cheating, scandals, and bankruptcies have happened off camera which has left viewers nothing to tune in for.

Recently, Aviva Drescher and Carol Radziwill's "Bookgate" scandal, and Ramona Singer's marital feuds were not enough to increase the show's ratings. Radar Online quotes a source, "The ladies just aren't connecting with viewers and they need something major to happen to them."
