‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Phaedra Parks Confronts Allegations From Angela Stanton Book

Phaedra Parks star of Bravo TV's Real Housewives of Atlanta, finally confronts the criminal allegations she's been avoiding for more than two years. The reality star is said to be facing allegations from her former friend Angela Stanton, who claims Parks was involved in fraudulent activity.

In Stanton's e-book, Lies of a Real Housewife, she revealed that Parks used to run a "criminal enterprise" when they were still doing business together. She alleges that Parks committed multiple criminal activities such as "fraudulent bank accounts, insurance checks, fake IDs, chop shops, stolen cars, fraudulent titles, [and] fraudulent registration cards." However, Parks was never charged for any of these crimes.

When Parks learned about what Stanton had written in her book, she filed a lawsuit worth $30 million against the publishing company, Vibe Holdings. Parks' legal team indicated that the publishing company should face libel charges for printing and distributing a book that contains lies about Parks.

For two years, Stanton's attorneys have tried to get an interview with Parks, but according to them, Parks has expressed "refusal to participate in good faith in the discovery process."

Stanton's legal team turned to the court for help. The judge agreed that the deposition from Parks is a "necessary step" in resolving the case. The judge issued an order dated June 19 for Parks to arrange a date for her deposition by July 4.

According to court records, the lawyers "began asking for available dates to take Parks' deposition back on November 15, 2013." Since 2013, they have been trying to "work with Parks, by and through her counsel, on numerous occasions to schedule her deposition, but [have] met with nothing but excuses, refusals and empty promises."

Parks' husband, Apollo Nida, has plead guilty on the fraudulent charges against him. He is awaiting his sentence on July 8.
