Real Housewives of Atlanta News, Cast Rumors: Apollo Nida to Finish Book Before Imprisonment [INTERVIEW]
Apollo Nida of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' will probably have a smaller presence in the show's seventh season following his imprisonment scheduled on September 10. However, this does not stop Phaedra Parks' husband from spilling secrets, not only about the TV series, but also about his love life as he works to finish his autobiography.
Nida is about to serve an 8-year prison sentence following several counts of theft apart from the court's order to pay $1.9 million worth of damages. He also admitted that he doubts that his marriage with Parks will last through his time in lock up, especially since his wife did not come to support him during the court sentencing.
The 35-year-old RHOA actor was originally sentenced to 30 years of imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to $2.3 million worth of money laundered from 50 people. This is Nida's third time in prison. He was first convicted for receiving stolen goods from December 29, 1998 to May 14, 1999 (five months) and again on July 28, 2004 for racketeering. He was given parole in May 2009 that shortened his 18-year sentence to five years.
In defense, his legal team said, "Mr. Nida's lengthy but early small-time criminal history is simply not in the same league as the 'violent offenders, drug kingpins and perpetrators of far more serious offenses' that Criminal History Category V was designed to address."
Meanwhile, NeNe Leakes, Kandi Burruss, Phaedra Parks, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, and Porsha Williams will return to 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Season 7, according to E! News.
