Showtime's crime drama series, 'Ray Donovan', will air its Season 2 finale episode entitled 'The Captain' on Sunday, September 28.

The episode is said to focus on Mickey, played by Jon Voight, as he tries to start over and formulate a new plan. His previous plan did not take into effect when Terry, played by Eddie Marsan, got arrested and Shorty, played by Steph DuVall, died.

Abby, who is played by Paula Malcomson, will also have her fair share of screen time in the finale episode as she tries to choose between her husband Ray, played by Live Schreiber, and her lover Jim Halloran, who is played by Brian Geraghty.

The upcoming episode will also feature an intense confrontation between Ezra and Ray, as shown in a season finale sneak peek video that was posted on the show's official website.

"Shut the door. Sit down, Raymond. You don't know who you are anymore, Ray. It's all gotten away from you," Ezra said in the preview. To which the main character replied, "It's over Ezra."

In the upcoming finale episode, it is said that something big and unexpected is going to happen.

"As per last season, Ray Donovan is really good at making something huge happen by the end of the season, and this is exactly what is going to happen. The unexpected is going to happen, and people are going to have...something happen to them," Vanessa Shaw who plays Kate in the series told The Wrap.

On a positive note, the series has already been confirmed for a Season 3. The show's renewal was announced by Showtime's president David Nevins through a press statement.

"Both 'Ray Donovan' and 'Masters of Sex' are bold, provocative, premium television with production values at the top of the food chain. These acclaimed shows are filled with complex and interesting characters and settings that will no doubt give audiences compelling television to invest in for seasons to come," said Nevins.

The finale episode of the second season of 'Ray Donovan' airs on Sept. 28, 9pm on Showtime.
