Rangers Vs. Diamondbacks Preview & Livestream

Rangers ace Yu Darvish looks to continue his red-hot season as he takes on the Arizona Damondbacks in game 2 of a doubleheader. Darvish will be looking to tie for the major league lead with his eighth win when he opposesTrevor Cahill in the evening. The game looked to feature a high-profile pitching matchup, with D'Backs ace Ian Kennedy poised to take the mound, but his start was moved back for unknown reasons. So, it looks to be the Yu Darvish show today.

The AL-best Rangers (32-18) have won eight on the road recently, and have scored 55 runs in its previous nine games away from home. The Rangers have hit 20 home runs in their last 10 road games and look to continue that trend today. Darvish leads the major leagues with 8.24 runs of support per game, but he hasn't really needed it, sporting stellar peripherals and one of the best earned run averages in all of baseball, with a 2.84. The right-hander gave up only one run over six innings of work, but lost 1-0 to Oakland in his last start.

"I've been really pampered with all the run support I've been getting," said Darvish, who holds the MLB strikeout lead with 91 K's. The Rangers will be looking to get some extra work out of their starters today, coming off of a long extra inning game last night, where much of their bullpen was used.

Closer Joe Nathan had previously converted 36 straight save opportunities on the road, going all the way back to 2011 before blowing a one-run lead last night to the Mariners in the 11th inning. "Hopefully (Martin) Perez and (Yu) Darvish can give us nine innings in each game and everything works out good," manager Ron Washington said.

Arizona, tied with San Francisco for the NL West lead, seeks its fifth win in six home games after beating San Diego 6-5 on Sunday.
