PS4 vs Xbox One Sales Comparison: Phil Spencer Believes Microsoft will Beat Sony in the Console Wars
In the battle for video games supremacy, Microsoft's Xbox One and Sony's PlayStation 4 are fighting for consumer's money in the next gen war between the gaming giants. Despite the fact that the PlayStation 4 currently leads Xbox One in sales so far, Microsoft is not going to throw in the towel anytime soon.
"We are in this to win and to compete, compete on all levels; functionality, games, value. All of those things are incredibly important to us," said Phil Spencer about the state of the Xbox One to GameSpot on March 21 at GDC.
Spencer also told the popular gaming website that he does not believe the Xbox One's $500 price has an impact on the company's sales. He believes the company commitment to making awesome games will make the Xbox One surpass the PlayStation 4 in sales.
"Clearly we see the price difference in market between our box and Sony's box. We're not blind to that," said Spencer to GameSpot. "We believe in the value proposition that we have there, but we also want to make sure we're a great value for our consumers."
Spencer also pointed to the bundles for Titanfall and Forza 5 games for the Xbox One as one of the ways the gaming company provides terrific games for their fans. In addition, the Head of Microsoft Studios believes the upcoming Xbox One release of Games with Gold will also help with the future profits of the company.
"We're not blind to that fact that (Games with Gold) is something that people have found value on (for Xbox 360), and clearly, we want people to find value with Gold on Xbox One," said Spencer to GameSpot.
The Microsoft Xbox One was released in multiple markets including the North America on November 22, 2013. The Sony PlayStation 4 debuted in the US on November 15 2013.
