PS4 Slim Release Date, Features: May Release New Redesigned, Sleeker Console in 2016?
A recent report claims that Sony's upcoming gaming console, the PlayStation 4 Slim will be available sometime in early 2016. A report in this regard is an indication that the Japanese tech firm is currently still working on the device.
According to another report, the PS4 Slim may arrive later in 2015, while Sony may make an announcement regarding its release date at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015.
It is worth mentioning here that the introduction of PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 slim versions have helped gamers to overcome the horrific red light of death, in addition to overheating problems related to the consoles from Sony's stable.
Matt Tran writes on Product-Reviews.net, "If the PlayStation 4 Slim were to be in development behind closed doors at the moment, it would allow Sony to iron out the issues that players have reported so far from the PS4. There has also been a big call for Sony to add PS3 backward compatibility, a feature which the PS4 sorely lacks but will be offered through streaming on PlayStation Now later this year."
"It is more likely that we will see the PS4 Slim come in the next year or two, which will not be an issue for people who do not mind the wait," he added.
Meanwhile, gamers who are frantic to get a PS4, but actually want to adopt the upcoming PS4 Slim version as their first model, have enough time to make a wise choice. Even though there is a good chance that a PS4 Slim will be released, it's not known for sure when the device will become available.
