Power Rangers Movie Premiere Date, Cast Rumors: Film to Release in Summer of 2016
With the release date of the Power Rangers movie announced, fans of the '90s series are wondering who will portray their favorite action heroes. 'Twilight' superstar Taylor Lautner and Liam Hemsworth are just two of the big names who are rumored to be included in the movie, alongside Liam Neeson and Chloe Moretz. Reports say that Moretz has already said yes to play the role of Kimberly Hart, also known as the Pink Ranger.
Another rumor states that Max Landis, who wrote 'Chronicle', may be the new writer for the Power Rangers movie. Allegedly the head of Lionsgate film studio asked Landis to take part in the project. Apparently, Landis has already come up with a screenplay draft that was presented to the producers of the movie.
The decision of turning Power Rangers into a movie was reportedly made due to the fan base of the series that has attracted viewers for over two decades. The movie that is scheduled to hit the big screen in the Summer of 2016 will reportedly revive the story of the high school group of guys and gals with superpowers that they will have to use together, not individually, in order to save the world.
As for other developments or potential cast members, nothing has been disclosed, as the production of the film is still in its early stages. One thing is for certain, fans will be able to see the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on the big screen, come Juy. 22, 2016.
