Pokemon X and Y Starter Greninja Added to Super Smash Bros 4 Roster; Charizard Also Joins Pikachu and Lucario
Pokemon X and Y's popularity all over the world is evident with the 12 million games it has sold in the last six months, and now the popularity is carrying over to Super Smash Bros 4.
In the new SSB4, there will be a host of new characters dedicated to the popular franchise, including the game's most recent edition. Actual playable characters include Greninja, Charizard, Pikachu, and, Lucario
At yesterday's Nintendo Direct, game developer Masahiro Sakurai revealed a host of new Assist Trophies to help gamers fight enemies. The Pokemon pop out of either a Poke Ball for regular creatures, or a Master Ball for some of the more rare or legendary ones. The monsters revealed in the episode were: Meowth, Electrode, Eevee, Staryu, Metagross, Fennekin, Meloetta, Gogoat, Entei, Deoxys, Palkia, Kyurem, Victini, Keldeo, Xerneas, and Chandelure. There could be more as well, as these were just featured in a short trailer.
Pokemon have been a staple in the series, as the first installment had Jigglypuff. SSB Melee, added MewTwo and Pichu. Brawl did away with the previously mentioned three, and had Pokemon Trainer, who could summon Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard. Meanwhile, Pikachu has been in all of the games.
X and Y was just named the fastest selling Nintendo 3DS game of all time, and just reached the 12 million sold mark.
Important to note is the sales total includes both X and Y. These two sold four million games on their launch weekend globally.
