Pokemon X and Y News, Update: Download Free Special Colored Vivillon Until July 31 in New Promotion

Pokemon X and Y is running a special free promotion for a fancy patterned Vivillon until July 31.

According to Gameranx, the Pokemon Company said they would send out a special edition of the Pokemon once 100 million swaps occurred over the Global Trade Station.

Vivillon wing patterns change depending on where the gamer is in the world. This special version of the creature will be available to everyone who plays the game. It also knows an exclusive move called "Hold Hands," which can not be learned by any other Pokemon.

With Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire well on their way, X and Y still have some life in them as a Battle of Legends Online Competition was announced.

According to IBTimes, this tournament will let gamers assemble their "dream team" of characters. Every character within the games is usable with no restrictions except Diancie, which is not usual for online battles.

The rules say every Pokemon will be set to level 50 and every battle box can contain a maximum of two legendary or two mythical Pokemon combined. Registration will begin on July 17 through July 24. Gamers must have a Pokemon Trainer Club account. The actual competition takes place from July 25 through the 27 with rankings being announced on August 1.

All participants in the tournament will receive 1,000 Poke Miles, and there will be a Junior and Masters Division. For more rules and info see here.

In other news, reports indicate the next game pushing forward the franchise could be Pokemon Z or a Pokemon Delta Emerald remake.

According to IDigitalTimes, Pokemon averages just about one game a year. Last year it was X and Y, and this year Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are expected with the latter being remakes. This leaves next year for a new game. Report suggests the long rumored Pokemon Z featuring Zygarde as its cover character could be next down the line, or a remake of 2005's Emerald, Delta Emerald.
