Pokemon X and Y News: Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter Now Available in Europe
Pokemon X and Y's Pokemon Bank has gone live in Europe after over a month of delays due to the app crashing the entire network.
Pokemon bank allows users to register for a cloud based storage service that enables gamers to keep over 3000 Pokemon in over a 100 boxes. This app comes with Poke Transporter, which allows for the transfer of Pokemon from previous games, Black and White, Black 2 and White 2. However, these trades are final, and Pokemon can only come from the older games, not vice versa.
The initial complications arose on Christmas day, when the Japanese release of the Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter caused the company's entire Internet server to crash.
Consumers reported common complications gaining access to the Nintendo eShop, playing online games, and even utilizing services like YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu through the Wii U, 3DS, Wii, and DS.
"Due to the high traffic, players are having trouble setting up Nintendo Network IDs and downloading content in the Nintendo eShop on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS," said Nintendo in a statement in around Christmas.
"We truly regret the inconvenience, and wish to reassure everyone that providing a solution is our top priority. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your continued patience."
The two apps are already live in Japan as well. There has been no word on a U.S. release date yet.
Upon downloading the app, the user has a 30 free trial, after which they must pay $2.99 for a yearly subscription fee.
