Pokemon X and Y News: Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire Release Date Confirmed for Fall 2014
Nintendo has just revealed the release date of the upcoming "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire" games at their E3 press conference.
The upcoming games are remakes of the popular "Pokémon Ruby" and "Pokémon Sapphire" that were originally released in America on the Game Boy Advance (aka GBA) back in 2003.
In addition, the company also released a new video at the E3 event on June 10, which shows the gameplay of the remake games and it reveals how the graphics will look on the Nintendo 3DS.
In the video, the protagonist (a young boy) goes inside a cave and notices on the cave's wall the illustrations of two Pokémon creatures (Kyogre and Groudon) in their primitive forms.
Your hero then flies off on the Latios creature as he embarks on his journey to become a Pokémon master.
The video shows actual footage of multiple Pokémon that can be found in the game such as Treeco (a grass-type starter Pokémon that debuted in the original Sapphire and Ruby games over a decade ago), Torchic (a fire-type creature that also debuted on the vintage Ruby and Sapphire versions) and Mudkip (another Pokémon that debuted in the aforementioned games back in 2003.
Just like the original "Pokémon Ruby" and Pokémon Sapphire" games, the protagonist tries to catch and train as many monsters in order to battle in the tournament contests and win badges on fictitious island named Hoenn.
In addition, there are rumors that Nintendo will release a third remake based on the "Pokémon Ruby" and Pokémon Sapphire" games after the company filed a trademark for the "Pokémon Delta Emerald" game in Japan last week. "Pokémon Delta Emerald" is also the remake of the original "Pokémon Emerald" that was released in the US on the Game Boy Advance nine years ago.
The "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire" will be available in American stores on the Nintendo 3DS on November 21, 2014.
