Pokemon X and Y News: Delta, Emerald Trademarked by Nintendo
In recent Pokémon X and Y news, fans are wondering if Nintendo will remake the classic "Pokémon: Emerald" game after the company filed a trademark for the "Pokémon Delta Emerald" game in Japan recently.
The original "Pokémon Emerald" game debuted in American and European stores (after being released in Japan a year earlier) for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) back in 2005. The popular GBA game was a superior remake version of "Pokémon Ruby" and "Pokémon Sapphire" which were originally released in the U.S. back in 2003.
In the original "Pokémon Emerald," players had a choice to choose to play as a boy (named Ash Ketchem from the popular long running anime series that debuted in the U.S. in 1998) or a girl, who is on a quest to be the best Pokémon master of all time. The protagonist tries to collect and train as many monsters in order to compete in tournament matches in order to win badges in the fictional island called Hoenn.
Nintendo filed the trademark for the upcoming "Pokémon Delta Emerald" game earlier this month on May 2, but the information became public on May 29.
Now it appears that Nintendo and developer Game Freak might create another remake based on the same GBA games after announcing that both "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire" will be arriving for the Nintendo 3DS this Fall.
If the unconfirmed "Pokémon Delta Emerald" game arrives in stores, it would mark the first time that Nintendo released three remake titles from the popular franchise at the same time, instead of the usual two remake titles contemporarily.
The "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire" will be available in American stores on the Nintendo 3DS in November 2014.
