Pokemon X and Y News: Cocoon of Destruction Movie Premiering in Japan This Summer, Features Xerneas and Yveltal
Pokemon X and Y is getting its own movie based on the popular game, and the new anime cartoon will be called, "Cocoon of Destruction."
CoroCoro reported that the movie will show the game's two legendary Pokemon, Xerneas and Yveltal, squaring off. The two characters are the cover Pokemon for the 3DS game.
The movie is slated for release in Japan on July 19 2014, and the creators of the film are holding a special promotion that will allow fans to choose a bonus gift. The Pokemon available to vote for now are Jirachi, Darkraim, Manaphy and Victini.
X and Y is getting its own anime series in English on the Cartoon Network January 18, making the jump from its release in Japan in October.
"Pokemon the Series XY" will be the fifth rendition of the popular anime cartoon since its debut in the late 90s, reports Bulbapedia. The show was first demoed back on October 19 2013 as a sneak peek when the first two episodes were previewed.
The series protagonist, Ash Ketchum, will be returning with his trusty side kick Pikachu to explore the Kalos region of his world. The trio of Team Rocket bad guys, Jessie, James, and Meowth will be returning as well.
"It's time for Ash and Pikachu to set off on their adventures in the Kalos region! Along the way, they're joined by some new friends"”a genius inventor named Clemont, his little sister Bonnie, and Serena, a Trainer on her first journey. In between Gym battles, Ash and friends will be exploring this unique region, meeting all kinds of new Pokémon, and looking into a fascinating new Pokémon mystery!
