Pokemon X and Y will be holding a 2014 Battle Tournament, according to a new announcement by Nintendo UK. On March 1 Nintendo UK is beginning their own tournament to give away prizes and awards. These events will be in GAME stores and shopping centers throughout the UK with a regional winner announced on April 26, reported NintendoLife.

Three winners will be chosen, and each with different prizes.

The Ultimate Pokemon Expert will get a week long trip for two in Japan where they will visit the real Pokemon center and get a chance to explore Tokyo. First and second place in this category will have an opportunity to advance to Play! Pokemon UK VGC in the spring. All contestants must be aged 13 and up.

The Junior Expert winners are for those 12 and under. The winner will get a week long trip with their whole family to Alton Towers theme park along with the hotel accommodations. The first and second place will also be sent to Play! Pokemon in the spring.

The Ultimate Team competition is a unique tournament in which two family members get a chance to double up and compete against two other family members in a four way battle. One person has to be under 13, and the other can be over 16. Winners will get a £250 Nintendo UK Online Store voucher along with a trip for four to EGX London 2014.

The last category is Pokemon Apprentice. In this event newcomers to playing the game can compete against each other for a bundle of 3DS games that add to £300.
