Pokemon Pokken Tournament Game Confirmed: Pokemon Company Announces New Fighter Title to Fans [TRAILER VIDEO]

After a week of teasing about a 'special' Pokemon announcement, Tsunekazy Ishihara, president of the Pokemon Company, has confirmed a new Pokemon Pokken Tournament Game on the Japanese NicoNico show.

In fact, the company hinted about a new Wii U Pokemon game in 2013 at the Pokemon Games event, which left fans wondering if it would turn out to be a new Pokemon Stadium title. The company showcased the Poke Fighters in a trailer at the time of the announcement. The video showed Pokemon franchise creators speaking on different Japanese combat games, like 'Soul Calibur' and 'Tekken'.

The Pokemon combat game has graphics similar to a style seen with the Pokemon Stadium games. The battle sequences appear to have some resemblance to the recent 'Dragonball Z' fighting games (going by the game's trailer).

Additionally, it is evident that 'Soul Caliber' and 'Tekken' have been major influences on the upcoming Pokemon title. However, reports mention that the new game is likely to appear at arcades before it ever reaches the consoles.

So far, Lucario, Machamp and Blaziken are the only confirmed fighters, as evident from the trailer released last year. In addition, the company has confirmed that the Pokemon in the game will have a transformation ability as one of their regular or finishing moves, which can be employed by the players. Lucario possesses the aptitude to transform into his mega form, and Blaziken will most likely have the ability to do the same.

Even though many Pokemon fans believed that the special announcement would be about the long-rumored Detective Pikachu game, gamers are now pleasantly surprised to know that it was about a Wii U Pokemon fighting game instead.
