In the game, players will meet Professor Birch. He runs a lab in Littleroot Town and will give the player his very first Pokémon. which will eventually become the player's partner.

Every player will have to go on a journey and go to different Pokémon gyms and challenge other Pokémon trainers and gym leaders to win a badge.

The game will be released on Nov. 21 for Nintendo 3DS and can be enjoyed with one to four players.
