PlayStation Plus July 2014: Destiny Beta Now Available for PS3 and PS4 Gamers Up Until July 13
PlayStation Plus is giving gamers the opportunity to play the Destiny beta this month to test out the game before its September 9 release.
The first rumor concerning a beta for this game was fake, but now Destiny is up and running. The beta began this Monday and will run until July 13. 5,000 people will have a chance to sign up before it totally goes offline on the 21st.
According to EpochTimes, PlayStation 3 and 4 will have the game for eight days while Xbox 360 and Xbox One will have it for four days.
In other news, on July 1, Sony gave away two games for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita, which is something new for the monthly PS Plus releases.
For the PS4, users received TowerFall Ascension which was released in March, and Strider, released in February. The PS3 received Dead Space 3 from last year, and Vessell, which is a popular indie game. The Vita got Doki Doki Universe and Muramasa Rebirth. In Europe, Muramasa was traded out for LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.
According to GameSpot, PS Plus became available in Europe on July 2, while the U.S. got it on the first day.
Prior to this month Sony would sporadically announce the games on the list, but never seemed to have a schedule. Now there will be two free games offered each month for PS3, PS4, and PS Vita, reported Polygon.
In July, the schedule began running the deal from the first Tuesday until the next month's Tuesday.
"Every title in the Instant Game Collection will be available the first Tuesday of the month, and will be free for the month, until the first Tuesday of the following month, taking the guesswork out of how long the game will be available for free," Sony wrote on the PlayStation Blog, "In the coming weeks, you'll see that several of the titles that have had a nice, long stint in the Instant Game Collection will be phased out, so if you're new to the service and haven't had a chance to download all of the titles available through PS Plus "” or if you've been thinking about subscribing but haven't yet "” now is the perfect time to get all the great games available with PS Plus."
