PlayStation Network Maintenance and Update for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita Today; Online Down for 6 Hours
The PlayStation Network will be undergoing maintenance today from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. EST Sony announced earlier this weekend.
During this period of six hours, the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, and the Account Management settings will be down. According to the Escapist, anyone who has logged on after January 20 should still be able to play online games and use Netflix and other services during the maintenance.
"We thank you for your patience and support and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. In order to access online game play and partner apps during this routine maintenance, we ask that you please sign in to PlayStation Network prior to Monday, January 27th," Paul Sullivan, PlayStation Senior Community Manager said, reported Escapist.
The PSN repairs will be for all three Sony consoles - PS3, PS4, and PS Vita.
One of the last maintenance days occurred back on Dec. 9, as Sony worked to improve functionality to the PSP and PS Vita.
"This maintenance will increase the number of devices that can be activated by an account as a portable gaming device. This means that you can now activate up to three portable gaming devices (PSP (PlayStation Portable) and PlayStation Vita) on your SEN account. This new portable gaming device allotment is in addition to the other network improvements being implemented during this downtime," the post for PlayStation said in December.
