PlayStation 4 Update 1.70 Launches April 30, Includes ShareFactory and HDCP Toggle (VIDEO)

PlayStation 4 update 1.70 will be arriving on April 30 and will come with video editor and HDCP toggle.

"Heads-up: PS4 firmware update 1.70, inc. SHAREfactory and HDCP Off, goes live on 30th April. More soon!" wrote PlayStation Europe's Twitter.

Shortly after PS4 U.S. confirmed an update as well: "Confirmed: PS4 system software update 1.70 lands in N. America April 30th! Brings SHAREfactory, HDCP off, much more: http://bit.ly/1kdbVo2"

The ShareFactory video editor app and will allow gamers to remove the HDCP video signal copyright protection if they choose to. Polygon reported, the app will also aloow gamers to add audio tracks and video filters on their PS4 video uploads.

According to Polygon, Sony announced in March that the next firmware update will let gamers use USB drives to save videos and screenshots.

In other news, PlayStation Now was announced at the beginning of the month, and so far the the exact release date has not been released. It has been speculated it will arrive sometime before 2015, and then release globally early next year because of Sony's weaker broadband connection in Europe, reported IGN.
