PlayStation 4 System Hardware Update for Stereo Headsets Tonight; 1.60 Covers Pulse Edition and Gold Wireless Headsets (VIDEO)

PlayStation 4 is getting a system hardware update tonight that will come with wireless support for stereo headsets.

The announcement was made by Sony this morning, and the update, called 1.60, will be for the Pulse Elite Edition and regular Pulse headsets. According to Sony they will offer 7.1 virtual surround sound and a clearer voice chat.

A Gold Wireless Headset with 7.1 surround sound is being developed by Sony for the PS4 and PS3, and will also be compatible with computers via an audio cable to the PS Vita, reported Polygon.

Later this month the "Headset Companion App" will be in the PlayStation Store. It will be compatible for the both headsets.
