PlayStation 4 Slim Release Date News: Thin PS4 Launch Rumors Emerge For E3 2015

As time progresses, gamers and news agencies continue to speculate as to when or if Sony's Play Station 4 Slim will be released. While rumors about it spread like wild fire, they remain unconfirmed as Sony has yet to announce whether or not there will ever be a PS4 Slim version.

PlayStation fans remain hopeful that the thinner model will be revealed during next year's 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) event, which has been a popular topic of discussion in online communities for the last few weeks.

"I'm going to wait till E3 to decide. Sony's plans or aspirations may look good on paper but until I see the reality behind it I'll decide whether or not to get one at launch. I've purchased all their previous consoles at launch, but with the PS3 the first year was rather slow and i should of held out for at least a year before buying one," one user from the Sony community forum said.

Previous slim models of the PS2 and the PS3 have had a great history for fighting against the dreaded red light of death, as so many gamers have fallen victim to. Due to a slim model's focus on ventilation, it's less likely to crash after extreme use which would make the system no longer playable.

Overheating issues with the regular model is something that concerns gamers that use their consoles frequently. A slim PS4 would should be a stronger and more reliable device than the regular version, but as of yet there is no confirmation about it ever coming out. However, due to high demand and a history of slim PlayStation models, a thinner PS4 is likely to emerge sometime in the future.

So far, the only speculated date for any news on a PS4 Slim is next year's E3 event.
