PlayStation 4 Save File Error Plagues Gamers as They Lose Data, Sony Responds

A PlayStation 4 error has been messing up the save files of users all over the globe as gamers lost hours of gameplay and app malfunctions.

"If you are experiencing this ce-34878-0 error code, please close the application and then install the latest system software and game patch. If the error occurs again, initialise the PS4 system after back-up of the save data and please also submit any crash reports after re-booting your console when the error occurs," Sony wrote on the PlayStation blog.

According to IGN, gamers where complaining of the error code while playing FIFA 14, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, and NBA 2K14.

Sony sold more than 4.2 million PlayStation 4's in its short month and a half run in 2013.

Sony Computer Entertainment president Andrew House made the impressive announcement at the CES event this month.

According to Polygon, Sony is looking to sell five million units by March 2014, and they appear to be way ahead of target. They sold one million on launch day alone.

"The momentum of the PS4 system keeps getting stronger and we couldn't be more thrilled gamers worldwide are enjoying the incredibly immersive gaming experiences along with deep social capabilities and entertainment provided by our network," House said in a prepared statement. "After a remarkable launch, we look forward to bringing even more exciting content and continuing to explore the power of the PS4 system by adding new features and services, including PlayStation Now, in 2014."

In addition to big console sales, House also stated 9.7 million games have been sold.
