PlayStation 4 Pro Release Date, Price, Specs News: Everything You Need To Know

The PlayStation 4 release date won't come until Nov. 10, 2016, but at least the price is lesser than people initially thought. You still get the same specs that can mimic 4K games.

To be clear, the PlayStation 4 is not going to play native 4K games, what it does based on its specs is to upscale the video games to simulate the graphics of high-resolution titles.

Here are the specs for the PlayStation 4 Pro, which you can see for yourself during the release date:

- CPU: x86-64 AMD "Jaguar," 8 cores clocked at 2.1GHz

- GPU: 4.2 TFLOPS, AMD Radeon-based graphics clocked at 911MHz with 36 compute units

- Storage size: 1TB (most likely 5,400rpm)

- Memory: GDDR5 8GB + 1GB DRAM

- Operating temp: 5ºC - 35ºC/41ºF - 95ºF

- Input/Output: Super-Speed USB (USB 3.1 Gen.1) port × 3, AUX port × 1

- Power consumption: Max. 310W

From the initial expected PlayStation 4 Pro price of $500 prior to the launch, it's now anticipated that it will cost $399. One of the bad news for this console, however, is it's not equipped to play Blu-Ray UHD discs.

That got Xbox exec Albert Pinello wondering why the PS 4 Pro is not capable of playing Blu-Ray. "I would say it's one of the more surprising decisions that they made, given their history with being on the forefront of media transitions like they have," he said.

But the PlayStation 4 Pro is enough for you to enjoy the PlayStation VR due to the higher frame rates and better visuals.

There should be more news on the PlayStation 4 Pro ahead of the release date next month. We will report any new information that may come along.
