‘Planetside 2’ PS4 Closed Beta Sign Up Release, Dates: Sony Launching Early Access Next Week
'Planetside 2' executive producer Clint Worley revealed that the closed beta will arrive on January 20 for the PS4. As it stands, the beta will test servers and will be used to gain feedback straight from the players. Sony Online Entertainment would like to know how the players perceive the overall game experience on the console instead of the PC.
This will be possible via the forums that the players can access where they submit their questions and comments. On that note, Sony will further develop the 'Planetside 2' title based on those discussions.
The project will first be available to a thousand of gamers and Sony will continuously invite batches of players throughout the duration of the closed beta. The invitation will be based in chronological order to those who signed up on the game's website.
For now, the website is still accommodating more sign ups before the closed beta's release date.
Worley promised that it will be a "one of a kind gaming experience" that will feature "massive battles and "enormous continents."
Unfortunately, for 'Planetside 2' gamers outside the US, they need to wait for some time to access the game on PS4.
"We are working on our SCEE Beta submission. It will be slightly delayed but it is on its way. Once we have a confirmed date we will let our SCEE players know. I would still recommend signing up for the Beta via our webpage just to be sure," Worley said.
'Planetside 2' is highly praised since it is a free-to-play game. To emphasize that the game is not after pay-to-win, Sony Online Entertainment CEO John Smedley confirmed that they will not add advanced weapons or vehicles in the game's cash shop.
The game creators are inspired by 'League of Legends' wherein players can only purchase the character's skin and boosts for currency.
Although the game is now pushing for success ont he Playstation 4, 'Planetside' creators confirm that they are a "PC first" company.
