PJTN SEES ANTI-SEMITIC CURRICULUM IN TN SCHOOLS

Laurie Cardoza Moore, President and Founder of the nationally recognized Pro Israel organization, Proclaiming Justice to The Nations, is shining a spotlight in the State of Tennessee to initiate a full and thorough investigation into curriculum approved and being taught in schools in Williamson County, one of the state's most affluent school districts. The material in question promotes an anti-Semitic bias against Israel in general and Jews specifically.

The text in question is taken from The Cultural Landscape Curriculum - An Introduction to Human Geography, under the title, "Why Has Terrorism Increased?"  The author states, "If a Palestinian suicide bomber kills several dozen Israeli teenagers in a Jerusalem restaurant, is that an act of terrorism or wartime retaliation against Israeli government policies and army actions?"

On Monday, April 15, PJTN will join other organizations in Middle Tennessee to launch a community-wide effort to remove any curriculum from County/City schools that promotes anti-Semitic views or Arab/Palestinian terrorist aggression against the Jewish community, both locally and globally.

Noted Cardoza-Moore in a related statement: "This type of blatant anti-Semitic propaganda and disinformation has no place in our public discourse and it certainly should not be taught to our future leaders. If we apply the same logic articulated in the textbook, legitimizing terror attacks against Jews in Israel as a result of 'political violence', then what should we deduce from 9/11 and the Muslims who murdered almost 3,000 Americans on that horrific day? That the 19 Saudi nationals who attacked the U.S. in general and Americans specifically were justified in order to advance the political cause of Islam?"

Cardoza-Moore is calling on Williamson County School Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney and School Board Members to launch a full and thorough investigation into curriculum that was approved by the Williamson County Superintendent of Curriculum, Tim Gattis.   She is also calling on the Williamson County School Board to implement stricter guidelines with regards to the selection of curriculum in adherence to the highest achievement standards parents expect for students in Williamson County.   "As Americans, we do not pay taxes for our School Board Members to purchase 'subpar' curriculum with numerous mistakes and anti-Semitic views. We want to make sure that the Jewish community feels safe in Williamson County and that we are able to make sure those values are upheld for future generations by what is taught to our children in our schools."

From her vantage point both as the Founder and President of PJTN as well as her work as a Special Envoy to the UN appointed by the World Council of Independent Christian Churches, Cardoza-Moore feels the anti-Semitic curriculum problem encountered in Tennessee is increasingly becoming a national epidemic within the educational system.

"I encourage parents across America to review their children's history and geography textbooks and hold their teachers and school faculty accountable to provide accurate curriculum for their students," she notes.   "It is this type of disinformation that historically leads to violence against Jews and will ultimately lead to the downfall of this great nation. The Holocaust did not happen in a vacuum.  This horrific event in history occurred systematically because Christians, Germans and world leaders turned a blind eye to the growing anti-Semitism in Germany while Adolf Hitler incrementally executed his evil agenda. In the words of Holocaust survivor, Elie Wiesel, 'Indifference to evil is evil.' We cannot allow history to repeat itself by ignoring what schools here in America are teaching our children."
