Red-hot Francisco Liriano gets the start for the home team in the last game of the interleague matchup. No other way to say it: Liriano [8-3, 2.20 ERA] has been the Pirates ace so far in 2013. He still has the fastball [93 mph], perfected the changeup he learned from Santana and throws a great slider 36% of the time. This is the first time since Liriano's rookie year in 2006 that he gets twice as many ground ball outs than fly balls which means he's keeping swings down. Liriano has given up only 6 earned runs in his last 27 and 2/3 innings.

On the other, Tommy Malone [8-7, 4.11 ERA] with a road ERA just below 5. In a big ballpark like the A's stadium, Malone gets away with fly outs. On the road, he's definitely the underdog. PNC Park in Pittsburgh still has great dimensions for fly ball pitchers but nowhere near the size of Oakland's stadium, especially in foul ball territory.

Though the A's are still very relevant in their division, they only have one all star for the American League this year.

Tune in to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates take on the Oakland Athletics tonight at 7:00 PM ET on ESPN and WatchESPN.
