Pink Floyd New Album Release Date Late 2014, Entitled Endless River - Features Unreleased Songs From 1994
It has been a long time coming, but Pink Floyd has officially announced that they are going to release a new album this year, entitled Endless River.
The announcement came from David Gilmour's wife, Polly Samson. Samson tweeted the announcement, "Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called "The Endless River". Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright's swansong and very beautiful."
The veteran backup singer Durga McBroom-Hudson also confirmed the news on Facebook, "YES. THERE IS A NEW PINK FLOYD ALBUM COMING OUT. AND I'M ON IT," she wrote, "And there was much rejoicing."
Endless River will be the first studio album from the band since their last installation, The Division Bell, in 1994.
McBroom-Hudson also added information about the new collection, "The recording did start during The Division Bell sessions (and yes, it was the side project originally titled The Big Spliff that Nick Mason spoke about)," she wrote, "David and Nick have gone in and done a lot more since then."
She also said that the album has been initially planned to be an instrumental recording, but Gilmour has since changed the direction of the album. Last December, he invited McBroom-Hudson to once again be his backup singer.
The songs that will be included in the album are still unknown, but Samson said they are going to include Pink Floyd's unreleased songs from 1994.
Pink Floyd is one of the most popular band names in the history, according to Mashable. The band originally formed in 1965.
