Pierce Brosnan's Daughter Dies of Ovarian Cancer, Same Cancer that Took Her Mother's Life

Pierce Brosnan, who is famous for playing James Bond, has lost his daughter Charlotte to ovarian cancer last week.

Charlotte Brosnan was 41 and a mother of two in London. Charlotte's mother (Brosnan's wife) also died from ovarian cancer along with her grandmother. So it has been a tragic disease in the family for generations.

Cassandra Harris, Brosnan's late wife, passed away over 20 years ago in 1991, she was an Australian actress and former Bond girl as well.

Brosnan released a statement saying, "On June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean." He continued, "Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humility, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful deal girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand."

Brosnan, 60, was on location in Eastern Europe filming for November Man but was able to rush back before she passed.

Cassandra had Charlotte and a son Christopher in a previous marriage before marrying Brosnan in 1980, however Brosnan adopted the kids and always treated them just like his own with them even taking his name after their father died in 1986.

Brosnan has had 2 children, Dylan, 16 and Paris, 12, with his second wife, Keely Shaye Smith.

She is a journalist and Brosnan calls her his "North Star" for all of the guidance that she has provided him.
